Google recently announced an experimental program to bring ultra-high speed network access to select communities in the U.S. Their plan is to offer 1 gigabit per second fiber-to-home access to communities with 50,000 to 500,000 people, and do it at a competitive price. Sounds optimistic, but we’ll take it! Netflix and HD streaming services would fly, online backup of large media databases would be more feasible, home and coffee-shop telecommuters would be more productive, among many other advantages. So how can you help?
